The History of our House
Our house is one of the oldest buildings in Alpbach, the "most beautiful flower village in Austria", and the first recorded document goes back as far as the 12th century. Our pristine location on the southern slope facing the stunning village of Alpbach, which is a mere 1.5 km away, offers our guests memorable views of Alpbach, the majestic alpine landscape, and the picturesque Alpbachtal valley.
Our historical house has been passed down from one generation to the next within the Moser family from as early as 1667. The family lived off the land as traditional farmers until 1957, then decided to offer snacks from their farm produce, and soon opened their home to guests as a traditional Gasthof (transl. inn), cooking delicious meals and speciality dishes.
Despite our recent renovations, we have preserved the most important and historic elements of the Roßmoos-farmhouse. Throughout our spectacular house our guests can discover the charming details as well as the rich history: enjoy the unique ambience in our traditional farmer's parlour, called the "Stube", and take some time to admire the façade of our beloved house. The extraordinary and organic balance of our traditional farmhouse and its overall appearance combined with the modern, comfortable, and clever interior design is a further positive step into our modern age for the impressive Gasthof & Hotel Roßmoos.
